Employees can underestimate their abilities and performance.  However, the biggest barrier can be in their head.  Allowing doubt or fear to veer off course of their boldest ambitions.  It is important to get behind your people.  Encourage their dreams.  Acknowledge their strengths.  Applaud their risk-taking.  Knowing someone has their back may change their trajectory and the ultimate outcome.  Closing the confidence gap is simply good business.

The confidence gap starts younger than you can imagine.  t is never too early to invest in leadership for our youth.  Encouraging them to take risks.  Giving them opportunities to use their voice.  Teaching them how to rebound from failure.  Helping them to navigate the complexities of relationships.  Providing methods to silence their inner critic.  Preparing youth to be leaders makes sense.
